Cookies

Grandma Jonte's No-Bake Butterscotch drops
These cookies are not pretty or healthy. They are, however, easy and delicious!
Ingredients:
1/2 c butter
1/2 c milk
2 c brown sugar (packed*)
2 1/2 c quick oats
1 c chopped nuts
1 package butterscotch chips
Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add milk & brown sugar. Bring mixture to a boil, boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add oats, nuts & chips. Stir, stir, stir until everything is melted. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool (20-30 min in fridge, about an hour at room temp).
These are very rich little cookies, so keep them small. If you're feeling crazy, you can substitute chocolate chips, either milk or semi-sweet. I used walnuts as my nut of choice in this batch, but use whatever floats your boat. If you want nutless cookies, add another 1/2 c (or so) of oats so the texture is right. Right being firm enough that they don't spread out all over the wax paper, but still softish.
Enjoy!
*is there ever a recipe that calls for unpacked brown sugar?

* Loosely packed as opposed to firmly packed, maybe?

Oooh those look good. What's "1/2 milk" though?

A typo. Should be 1/2 CUP milk =)

YES! I saw a recipe last month, don't recall what it was, that called for "unpacked brown sugar". First time I'd ever seen that.

These look yummy. I'm all about the butterscotch.
